What does abundance mean to you?
This will look different for all of us. Our relationship with abundance is cultivated from a very early age and significantly impacted by the beliefs we inherit from our childhood environment. This impact generates core attitudes around need and worthiness; what we feel is available to us and whether or not we deserve it.
The foundation of abundance is knowing you are enough.
True abundance comes from within, it has nothing to do with material possessions or what your bank account looks like. It is the inner knowing that you already have everything you need within yourself. It is a mindset and a deep reserve of self-love, stillness and empowered confidence in who you truly are.
Learning to believe that we are enough is an ongoing journey, as our egos are forever intervening. We become convinced that we will be enough when… when we have more money, when we “own” more possessions, when our validation comes from somebody else loving us, when we get a promotion, when our bodies look perfect in the mirror… but what if we uncovered that none of this is a measure of our worth? If we recognised that our true worth is measured by the quality of our inner self – the essence of who we really are… which is immeasurable and perfect exactly as it is. Tuning into this essence requires conscious intention.
Who are you when you remove all the layers? … You are complete.
Deep within you is pure energy – divine, abundant and waiting to create! This energy is potent and holds knowledge about everything you seek. All of the questions you have about life… why am I here? What am I here to do? Within you is this knowing, waiting to be unlocked and aligned with. This alignment is not one we have to work to achieve, we simply need to connect with it by removing the layers.
Our egos are wonderful survival tools that we develop from a young age in order to protect ourselves and assert ourselves in the world. We live on the physical plane and we must connect to this plane in order to carry out our earthly (soulful) mission. We need material and money to build a foundation from which to create our lives. It is our relationship with our material resources though, that orchestrates how we fulfill that mission. Do we believe we always have enough? Or are we forever wanting more? The answers to those questions will depend on what is happening within. For when we cultivate inner abundance and alignment with our true essence, we know that we are already enough and that we always have enough of what we need to fulfill our earthly journey… when we align with this – we develop a healthy relationship with our material resources and we don’t need “more”. We do not waste because we are not operating from a place of “un-deservingness”. The need for more may arise when we feel scarcity and lack, or it may generate when we have plenty and continue to desire more and more out of material identification. These are simply mindsets that coincide with our self-worth. Intentionally learning and knowing that we are worthy and already enough activates deep satisfaction with everything we have, and everything we need is what we will continue to receive.
How do we build this momentum from a conscious place? One powerful tool is through practicing gratitude. This is a really simple exercise… noticing all that we have and feeling genuine appreciation for all of it. This involves our material possessions that enable us to comfortably create a life for ourselves on the physical plane, but also incorporates our relationships, our health, our access to education, our ability to breathe fresh air and enjoy beautiful natural gifts like the ocean, the mountains and the night sky… most importantly, it involves our inner gifts – our minds with which we truly compose our realities, our creativity, our love for ourselves & others, our humility as perfectly flawed human beings, our journey and all of its powerful lessons, our growth and our wisdom. This is where our abundance lies, this is our purest reserve of wealth.
In our value of wealth, we must also value alignment with our truth. When we align with ourselves on this level, all aspects of our external reality will become authentic and we will experience deep fulfillment and connection with life. Dare to question your core beliefs and be curious about what you discover. A lot of what you find may not even truly belong to you. It is simply something you picked up in your pursuit of survival. But rather than surviving and racing to the finish line, perhaps we could be right where we are and thrive in this stillness, knowing we are enough and allowing this true abundance to spread light into every aspect of our lives.
You are enough and you have everything you need within to live the life of your dreams. There is no competition, no prize for the “most”. Your worth is immeasurable, and may you know this now and always.
