The Tarot message I have received this month is ‘The Wheel of Fortune’ – however, when I pulled this card it was upside down, so we will be interpreting the message a little differently. The Wheel of Fortune represents cycles, karmic patterns and fate. This card symbolises the ways in which the wheels of life will always continue to turn and that all of our experiences are impermanent. Upright, The Wheel of Fortune signifies positive change and auspicious opportunities. However, when this card presents itself in reverse, we are confronted with a potentially inexorable process that is designed to play out for our own learning & growth; as all processes ultimately are. Our challenge will be to surrender to this process as it may appear uncomfortable on the surface, but the wheel will continue to turn and we will inevitably move through the experience. It is how we move through our experiences that determines what we gain from them – particularly during our more challenging twists of fate.
We always have a choice, and we are all much more powerful than we realise. It is within this power, if we can channel it consciously, that we can direct the course of our journeys. This has nothing to do with “being in control” – as that mindset is entirely ego-centred and fixated on our external experience (something which we almost never have any real control over). This is an inner power that learns to master the ways in which we respond to the cards we are dealt, the beliefs we choose to adopt about our journeys and the reasoning we choose to give to our experiences. When we choose to see the higher meaning of all that we face – the broader perspective of why we are enduring what has presented itself, we unlock the whole purpose of life – to consciously evolve with grace and embrace everything as a divine soul lesson. To be grateful for every lesson; especially those that cause us pain. As it is that pain that has the ability to crack us open and enable us to experience life more deeply and understand ourselves and all others from a place of greater connection – that is if we choose not to let it shut us down or turn us bitter.
The Wheel of Fortune in reverse may highlight an unexpected change that we will likely feel powerless to, but if we can trust that this process is unfolding for our highest good (which it is), we will unlock the magic. We may struggle at first, as struggle is an inevitable aspect of life and growth, but we also have a choice as to how we navigate that struggle. The more we resist it, the more it will persist. This change may appear as unwelcomed on the surface but it has for us a gift. We get to choose how to receive that gift, or whether we receive it at all.
The last 12 months of all of our lives have demonstrated a phenomenal collective unexpected change & twist of fate. This has brought great pain to many people and it is now more than ever that compassion and empathy need to be activated on the planet. If we have been able to explore the silver linings, we will see that through being isolated we have had an opportunity to greater appreciate our togetherness and actually develop a greater sense of connection & unity. Through our way of life being changed forever, we have had an opportunity to evaluate how it is that we are actually living our lives and what it is that is truly important to us. We have been forced to retreat and get comfortable with our own company, and many of us have been gifted opportunities to change how we carry out our professional lives and consider what it is we could be doing to serve humanity. Adversity always shines a light on our values.
The wheel will always continue to turn, and something that feels like it could last forever and even potentially destroy us will always evolve into a new beginning. It is through destruction that we are rebirthed into higher versions of ourselves – if we choose to undergo the transformation. Nothing is permanent and everything has a purpose, so remember to surrender with perfect love & perfect trust to a power much greater than anything we could imagine; however your belief system interprets that concept.
Have a little faith and let go with love…
Instead of asking “why is this happening to me?” ask yourself – “what is this here to teach me?”
